Dance Festivals
Dance festivals are competitions where students compete against dancers from other schools. They can dance solos, duets, trios or troupes in a given discipline of dance in front of an adjudicator and audience. Participants dance in novice or open competition in sections relevant to their age.
Why should I enter a Festival?
Dancers need to perform, and festivals are fun!
Dancing in a festival gives the dancer confidence and stage craft.
Festivals provide a constructive evaluation of the dancer, a record of improvement and the chance to meet other dancers. If the dancer is placed they get a medal, all dancers get a certificate and evaluation sheet, showing their mark and comments.
High marks and potential are awarded with trophies at the end of the festival.
If you are interested in details of, or participating in any of the festivals then please carry on reading and get in touch with Gemma to let her know you’re interested…
